law and order

law and order

on pokemon, and youth

as pokemon are a high level of responsibility, ownership for legal children (anyone 17 or under) is slightly more prohibited.

at 10, pokemon training becomes possible

people under 10 cannot legally own pokemon- while their parents can own pokemon that function as pets for them, they are microchipped in the parent's names and will not become any responsibility of the child's without trading.

those over 10 can legally own pokemon after passing the BPSC and obtaining a trainer card/number. however, to apply for these they must have parental permission, and this can be revoked if the parent feels that their child is in too much danger.

this point has unintentionally led to a trend of pokemon trainers with parental issues- this is a phenomenon being closely studied in many sociological circles)

the teenage delinquent act

for those trainers embarking on their pokemon adventures underage, they must still stay in education until they are 16. this is achieved by attending specialist pokemon academies- something covered more on the page linked.

if the trainer refuses to attend the academies, their pokemon trainer numbers may be voided, preventing them from participating in any further events until their schooling is complete.

sexual crimes

just like the real world, sexual crimes are a hot topic.

pokephilia is a heated topic of debate

unsurprisingly, pokephilia is not actually illegal across most regions, including the (xyz) region. there are avid defenders of both side of the argument- those who argue it's a tradition, those who argue it's immortal, those who simply argue it's good and those who argue that they need to neck themselves.

what is for sure, is that the government does not like to talk about it much. admittedly, it's a very thinly-veiled secret that most of these lawmakers go home to pokemon wives. the even more conspiracy-brained would claim they have immoral pokemon sex parties with underage girls, but that theory's less widely-accepted.

there is sometimes justice, though

technically, it is illegal in some capacity though- you must either "own" the pokemon you choose to violate, or have the owner's consent to "use" it. any different will be considered dessicration of owned pokemon, and it's how most necropokephilia still gets prosecuted.

as you would expect, there are many who don't like this law, and consider that humans and pokemon's rights shoud be similar. if this will ever be changed is yet to be seen.
