the education system

ages 6-10 - primary school

from ages 6 to 10, schooling is fairly similar to the real world. children attend primary school, where they will learn basic literacy and numeracy, alongside safety around pokemon, money handling and cooking.

at school, they learn pokemon handling

due to pokemon being so intertwined with society, pokemon handling ability is considered one of the most nessicary parts of education. and so, the BPSC- the 'basic pokemon safety certificate' was introduced. passing this is nessicary for any job working with pokemon including obtaining a trainer card.

this includes focus on survival- how to fend off an aggressive wild pokemon, how to scare away pokemon, how to hide from apex predators, make fires and feed yourself until you find another trainer.

but it also includes how to train them in a way they're receptive to, how to manage their strength, how to use their attacks for good. this "domestic" branch of the BPSC is particularly focused in common "work" pokemon such as mudsdale, arcanine and machamp.

ages 10-16 - secondary school

from ages 10, children have the ability to deviate their life's path to become pokemon trainers. those who choose not to or are not allowed end up attending secondary schools, where they can figure out what to do with the rest of their life.
